The Yarra Community Awards are held each year to recognise the everyday heroes and I was thrilled to be working on the refresh of the Nomination Campaign, adding illustrations and images to create an engaging, fun and community driven vibe to the event.
The campaign posters, social tiles, eDM banners, flyers and realestate signs all communicate an encouraging message to nominate members of the public to the upcoming awards. It was very exiting to work closely with the Events and People in Culture teams in the lead-up to the Award Night.
The use of high-contrast hues of the Council’s pink brand colour scheme, was a choice based not only on the eye catching effect but to match the existing Community Awards brand elements like photo walls and other decorations to ensure minimal environmental impact.
Photos used are candid, high-energy images of real residents and local spaces rather than staged stock to capture diverse ages, backgrounds, and activities and to reflect community inclusivity.
